Untreated Gilsonite

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

GILSON 365™ is a Natural Gilsonite with ash content less than 1.1%. It is used for filtrate loss control and gives excellent shale control and stability while drilling.

Because GILSON 365™ has a large molecular weight distribution and a high molecular weight, the softening point is high compared to other types of polymers, which allows it to soften or deform as it nears its softening point instead of completely melting into a low-viscosity liquid. Even when GILSON 365TM is 20 degrees above its softening point, it is still a high-viscosity liquid.

ADDITIONAL ADVANTAGES

GILSON 365™ is soluble in aromatic solvents (Benzene, Toluene, and Xylene) and in most chlorinated solvents. Well bore clean-up is easy by circulating out of the hole.

APPLICATION

GILSON 365™ can be added at a pound per barrel of fluid depending on the properties desired and solids concentration. The product should be added slowly to the system over one complete circulation to ensure even distribution of the treatment.
